Before new automated control systems are designed or outdated systems upgraded, a pre-project survey, technical survey, and complete system assessment are required. These steps allow us to identify the current technical condition of equipment and technology, evaluate the potential for modernization, and develop the most efficient process management solution for the client.

A thorough site inspection ensures that the facility’s structure allows for all necessary engineering communications to be laid and connected. Our specialists travel to the client’s location to carry out an on-site control system audit as part of a comprehensive automation audit.

During the technology audit, ASA-Projekt engineers not only assess the equipment but also conduct a detailed process evaluation to measure production efficiency, reliability, and safety. This helps determine which parts of the automated infrastructure require replacement and what additional functionality should be incorporated into the new automated control system design.

Engineers conducting pre-project survey of industrial automation equipment

At this stage, automation planning begins. We create a strategy aimed at improving and optimizing the client’s production processes, ensuring both short-term performance gains and long-term operational reliability. As experienced control system developers, we collaborate with process engineers to define the core requirements and choose the best-fit solution. A professional system assessment, a clear process diagram, and well-defined automation goals are the foundation of a high-performance control system.

To prepare an optimal modernization project, we request the client to provide:

  • Technological process diagram of the installation with a detailed description.
  • Specification of main equipment and piping systems.
  • Floor plans and sections of buildings, as well as diagrams of major equipment.
  • Power supply characteristics of the installation (electricity, compressed air, heating, cooling).
  • Characteristics of raw materials and finished products.
  • Specific goals of the automation process.

Following the pre-project survey and technical survey, we define clear goals and tasks for each stage of implementation. Their consistent achievement ensures the successful launch of a new enterprise, the restoration of a non-operating facility, or the modernization of existing systems.

At the conclusion, the client receives a Techno-Commercial Proposal (TCP) or a Technical Specification (TS) that reflects the results of the automation audit, system assessment, and automation planning process, providing a complete roadmap for future success.
