Before new automation systems are designed or obsolete systems upgraded, a pre-project survey of equipment and technology is required to identify their current technical condition and develop the most appropriate and efficient automation system. It is also important to analyze the structure of the facility to determine whether all necessary engineering communications can be laid and connected. To address this task, our specialists travel to the Client’s site.
During the equipment audit, ASA-Projekt engineers assess the equipment, analyze the effectiveness, and evaluate the reliability and safety of the existing control system. This data helps us identify the operating principle of the equipment and its operational limits, decide which parts of the automation system should be replaced, and what functionality should be considered when designing a new automated control system.
At this stage, the development of a strategy for a new automation system that aims to improve and optimize the production processes of the enterprise is underway. As control system developers, we collaborate closely with the client’s process engineers to identify core requirements and select the most suitable solution. A well-executed equipment audit, a detailed process diagram, and clearly defined automation goals all contribute to a more effective control system.
To gain a clearer understanding of the project requirements and develop an optimal solution, we ask our Client to provide the following information, which will form the foundation for the automation project:
- Technological process diagram of the installation with a detailed description.
- Specification of main equipment and piping systems.
- Floor plans and sections of buildings, as well as diagrams of major equipment.
- Power supply characteristics of the installation (electricity, compressed air, heating, cooling).
- Characteristics of raw materials and finished products.
- Goals of the automation process.
Following the pre-project survey of equipment, we formulate specific goals and tasks. Their step-by-step achievement will ensure the successful launch of a new enterprise, the restoration of a non-operating facility, or the modernization of existing ones.
At the end of this stage, we provide the Client with a Techno-Commercial Proposal (TCP) or a Technical Specification (TS).
